چکیده

Transverse momentum spectra of charged particles in proton–proton collisions at √ s = 900 GeV with ALICE at the LHC ✩,✩✩ ALICE Collaboration a r t i c l e i n f o a b s t r a c t Keywords: ALICE LHC pp 900 GeV Transverse momentum PYTHIA The inclusive charged particle transverse momentum distribution is measured in proton–proton collisions at √ s = 900 GeV at the LHC using the ALICE detector. The measurement is performed in the central pseudorapidity region (|η| < 0.8) over the transverse momentum range 0.15 < p T < 10 GeV/c. The correlation between transverse momentum and particle multiplicity is also studied. Results are presented for inelastic (INEL) and non-single-diffractive (NSD) events. The average transverse momentum for |η| < 0.8 is p T INEL = 0.483 ± 0.001 (stat.) ± 0.007 (syst.) GeV/c and p T NSD = 0.489 ± 0.001 (stat.) ± 0.007 (syst.) GeV/c, respectively. The data exhibit a slightly larger p T than measurements in wider pseudorapidity intervals. The results are compared to simulations with the Monte Carlo event generators PYTHIA and PHOJET. 2010 Published by Elsevier B.V.

Correlation between mean transverse momentum and multiplicity in p-p collisions at s = 900 GeV in ALICE

The mean transverse momentum 〈pT 〉 of particles produced in heavy ion collisions and its event-by-event fluctuations are considered to be sensitive to critical fluctuations of the temperature of the hot and dense system created in such collisions. Fluctuations of 〈pT 〉 in proton-proton collisions are an essential reference measurement for these studies. Furthermore the mean transverse momentum ...

مطالعه تولید منحصر بفرد جفت پایونهای مثبت و منفی در برخوردهای پروتون-پروتون با مرکز جرم 7 ترا الکترون ولت

The exclusive production of charged pions, are reported in the proton-proton collisions, where the π+π- pair is emitted at the central rapidity, y, and the scattered protons stay intact (p) without detection. This measurement is performed with the CMS detector at the LHC, using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 450 μb-1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of  7 TeV. Th...

Charged particle jet measurements with the ALICE experiment in proton-proton collisions at the LHC

We present preliminary results of measurements of charged particle jet properties in proton-proton collisions at √ s = 7 TeV using the ALICE detector. Jets are reconstructed using anti − kT, kT and SISCone jet finding algorithms with resolution parameter R = 0.4 in the range of transverse momentum from 20 to 100 GeV/c in the midrapidity region (| η | < 0.5). The uncorrected charged jet spectra ...

ALICE pp physics programme

The physics programme of the ALICE experiment at CERN-LHC comprises besides studies of high-energy heavy-ion collisions measurements of proton-proton interactions at unprecedented energies, too. This paper focuses on the global event characterisation in terms of the multiplicity distribution of charged hadrons and mean transverse momentum. These bulk observables become accessible because the de...

Identified hadron spectra at large transverse momentum in p + p and d + Au collisions at √ s NN = 200 GeV

We present the transverse momentum (pT) spectra for identified charged pions, protons and anti-protons from p+p and d+Au collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV. The spectra are measured around midrapidity (|y| < 0.5) over the range of 0.3 < pT < 10 GeV/c with particle identification from the ionization energy loss and its relativistic rise in the Time Projection Chamber and Time-of-Flight in STAR. The c...
